Meet Our Team: Kundalini Teacher & Personal Trainer Grayson

Meet the newest member of the AGY community, Grayson, he is a Kundalini Yoga and Meditation Teacher and NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and through his work as a yoga teacher, singer, and photographer, he uses movement, music, and visual art as medicine for nurturing the soul.  It is Grayson’s greatest joy to connect with others in consciousness, wellness and laughter and he will be bringing this spirit to the “Divine Strength” class on our schedule every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. 

Grayson created this invigorating yoga method of high intensity, interval training and deep meditation into a class that is perfect for anyone who is interested in developing strength and groundedness in their body while maintaining a conscious connection to the Divine.  We are thrilled to bring him to our space for you to experience on a weekly basis; to learn more about Grayson you can read his interview below…

Grayson Gilbert Kundakini HIIT Yoga

AGY: What is your Astrology Sign and how do you relate to it? 

Grayson:  My Sun is in Taurus, I am very loyal to my closest friends, stubborn when I feel strong in my beliefs, and I have a propensity towards Beauty.

AGY: Favorite mantra:

Grayson: “I love you.”

AGY: How did you get into Yoga? 

Grayson: I moved to Los Angeles in 2014 and my roommate at the time recommended I go to CorePower Yoga with her and it was after a couple years of a steady Vinyasa practice that I began taking Kundalini Yoga.

AGY: Why are you passionate about teaching yoga? 

Grayson: I love to witness the transformation of others, even to see someone practicing with a gentle smile brings me so much joy.

AGY: Describe yourself in three words: 

Grayson: Kind, gentle and silly.

AGY: Random fact about you: 

Grayson: I had a severe phobia of shrimp when I was growing up. It’s gotten a lot better, but I still actively avoid the seafood section of a grocery store.

AGY: What brings you most joy and why?

Grayson: Being cozy in bed with my partner after a day of productivity or adventure, or the early mornings after my sadhana when I’m having my coffee and reading.  It’s those moments of doing absolutely nothing yet feeling connected to everything that bring me the most joy.

AGY: What’s your biggest fear and why? 

Grayson: Waste of potential, I often fear that I am not doing “enough,” and that I am wasting potential by taking time to rest.

AGY: What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done? 

Grayson: Hiking Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park. The very end of the hike requires you to hold onto a chain while scaling the side of the cliff, thank goodness I didn’t know, at least 11 people die a year on that hike…you should totally do it!!

AGY: If you live in LA, when and why did you move here?

Grayson: I have moved to LA three times and I’m hoping this is the last time!  I originally came out here after college to act, but once I found yoga, my desires began to shift.  I moved away after a year, then came back for a year, then left again to try out NYC, and in March 2020 I decided I’d give it one last chance! I love it here!

AGY: What is your favorite hobby, aside from yoga? 

Grayson: As a personal trainer, I love training clients and organizing workouts for them, but if I’m not doing anything related to yoga or fitness, I’ll be singing.  Always singing!

AGY: What is your favorite food? 

Grayson: My mom’s chicken and dumplings with breaded fried okra.  It’s the best comfort food that I could eat every day for the rest of my life.
