Meet our Team: Yin Yoga Teacher Kat
Kat teaches our Virtual Yin class on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Kat’s aim is to provide a safe yet honest space to connect with your true inner self during her classes and she does this through awakening and helping to cultivate your sense of stability, strength, confidence, self-knowing and love for both yourself and others. Find out what inspires and motivates Kat in the interview below.
AGY: What is your favorite mantra?
Kat: “I am…” – finish the sentence.
AGY: Describe yourself in three words:
Kat: Intentional, active and optimistic.
AGY: How did you get into Yoga?
Kat: I found yoga years ago while going through a deep depression. At the time, it was the only tool for self-love and self-healing that kept me going.
AGY: What is your favorite asana and why?
Kat: Halasana aka Plough Pose, because it brings me back to being a child and gives me an unconventional or uncommon feeling in the body.
AGY: Why are you passionate about teaching yoga?
Kat: I’m passionate about teaching yoga because it’s a tool that has greatly benefited countless lives, including mine. Most of all, I love to provide the time and space for my fellow beings to tune in and build a stronger bond with themselves.
AGY: What is your Astrology Sign and how do you relate to it?
Kat: My astrology sign is Libra Sun, and I’m a Virgo Moon and Virgo Rising. I feel my Libra Sun 100%, attaining Peace & Justice runs strong in my being. I LOVE to surround myself in beauty and aesthetics and I still can’t decide where to eat for the life of me. My Virgo moon and rising definitely asks that I have the equal balance from my Libra Sun, as much as my Libra side likes to be social, my virgo side likes my alone time and having things be clean and in order. I’m still learning how to relate to my moon and rising but I’m definitely starting to open up to it more and more.
AGY: What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done?
Kat: Highline.
AGY: What’s your biggest fear and why?
Kat: My Biggest fear is not doing all the things I dream of doing before I die.
AGY: What is your spirit animal and why?
Kat: I believe I have many and they change with the seasons! For most seasons, ants, usually just one ant, come into my life in moments of deep reflection. During the summer, Green June Beetles and in the winter time, spiders!
AGY: What is your favorite inspirational quote?
Kat: A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions” – Oliver Wendell Holmes
